title : OBS. finally.
Yo! Finally the OBS update is up.

Salam everyone. =)
Let's start rockin' shall we?

So on one lovely Monday morning, or the 17th to be exact, I came to school in the wee hours of the morning while everyone was still languorously sleeping in their warm warm beds...yada yada. I know how irritating it is to read draggy posts lahh okay. =D

Okay, I'll stop beating around the bush.

Got to Punggol Jetty, split into groups with NJC. While we were introducing ourselves, I couldn't help but feel inferior in terms of intellect. Seriously. I kept thinking what a dumbass I'll show myself to be especially if we had to do those thinking games/activities cause those have never been my fortes yar. And I really thought they'll be snobbish or something and I'll feel even more inferior or something. But they're all a nice people, fortunately. And we had a cool dude in the group, Muhammad. Chey chey! No lah, I mean he's one of the most attention-grabbing person around. You know, the kind whom everyone notices. Like, really.

So blah3. Our group didn't do much first day. Just had practice for abseiling. We were one of the slowest. And worst part is, we couldn't yet identify our fault then. Now, why am I giving you guys an analysis and evaluation of what happened as a watch at Ubin?

Okay, so second day was practice for kayaking where we kayaked to our second campsite. Not much activities there as well. The most interesting would be the fact that we finally got to eat ready-cooked meals and proper ones at that. Cause we've been cooking ourselves okay. But my watch was really lucky we got Faz, our Ahbu (Mum in Hokkien hor!) She's a really superb cook, I tell you. =) So yar, anws, we finally got to eat at the canteen. Proper tables and chairs some more. Like, woaahh.

Third day, we set off for our kayaking expedition where we headed off to our third campsite. We had to make one big round around ubin lahh okay. 5 HOURS AND 30 MINUTES OF KAYAKING IN THE SEA CONTINUOUSLY, NON-STOP. Talk about exaggeration eh. Hehs. We got to take a breaks here and there lahh. But still in the kayak in the sea though. I got myself a wonderful, amazing and fantastic partner. Si Pakcik Faiz. Yeah, eh's like super quiet in schoool lahh. Never expected him to be such a mak nenek you know. But he was great company lahh. And great partner cause he let me take breaks every half an hour! But. I got sick of the breaks after a while cause it made me feel so physically weak and inferior compared to the guys. And I don't know. Like the atmosphere got a little chauvinistic after a while. (No offence, dude.) So yeah, I think I started paddling more after that. But the conclusion is that Faiz was a real gentleman lahh okay. Cause I know he was just trying to help and all. =)

Third campsite was the real test of all. Why?
Cause it was the real test of stinking body odour, and your own hygiene level and the best possible testimony to your mental strength. The toilet there was horrifying. There was no potable water, so nothing to cebok with or bathe or wash yourselves clean with. But lucky there were the jerry cans, so at least I got to istinjak. But yeah. We had to make do with feeling sticky all over with sea water and yeah sleep and do everything else in that condition. I was really lucky I didn't need to do prayers lahh. Alhamdulillah.

Oh yar! I was kinda proud of myself at Campsite 3. Cause there was a lot of cats and dogs. Especially those BIG, GIGANTIC, TERRIFYING WILD DOGS.
But, I didn't even scream or run. Not even once, you know. Terror tak?! =D

Forth day, land expedition where we hiked all the way to Camp 2, the first campsite. We took 6 hours plus plus with a total of 5 checkpoints. The rest of the watches did 2 only okay. So yeah, our watch really felt a great sense of achievement and accomplishment after that, though we were the last to arrive and all. Go Armstrong! =)

To finally be able to bathe was absolutely GREAAAAT, I tell you. Rendered speechless. No words to describe. Really really. I was so ecstatic and got my spirits spiralled out of control due to the fact that I could finally smell wonderful and nice. Who0o0!

Last day, we were the earliest watch at getting everything done. Yeah, like, finally. But we had to do jetty jump after that. Scary scary. But Fathin is now no longer frightened of heights. Chey! So yeah, blah3, back to Singapore. Back home. That was the best part of this journey. Back home, a changed man, a changed leader. =D

To Armstrong: Theresa, our SUPERB INSTRUCTOR, Alvin, Faz, Kak Zila, Faiz, Siew Ching, Siew Ling, Kenya, Eve, Anabelle, Jiaomei, Hui Min, Yuen Wai, Muhammad and Ben the BEN10! You guys were really an amazing and wonderful lot of people. I'm really happy I got the honour to be part of the group, and go through thick and thin, fire and water together. Chey! We rock ya! =D

And and and, i don't think I could possibly get through if not for Faz and Kak Zila. Really really. They were like my pillars of strength, source of energy and willpower. Chey chey! Haha. Thanks Kak Zila and Faz! Special thanks to Faz who really really helped A LOT, there's no way I can ever show my gratitude. You rock Ahbu! =)

Oh yar, not forgetting my kayaking partner, Si Pakcik Faiz. Thanks a lot yar? Not only for being such a great partner, but for being such an amazing leader and fellow friend. Thanks for helping me all the time! =D

Oh yeah. Not forgetting Fakhrin, Filza, Ashyu, Naz and Huda who were in other watches. Wah, their presence really lifted me up and made me have the sheer willpower to move on. mcm paham. HAHAHA! SAYANG LAHH KORANG SMUE KAY! The last night where we almost got caught was super fun! haha! =D

Wah, I say my thanks as though they all know of the existence of this blog lahh. Haha. Nevermind. As the cliche saying goes, It's the sincerity that counts. =)

So yeah, I'm done with my updates on OBS. Be thankful I didn't include more details. Be thankful I'm less long-winded after the camp now. =)
